Surgeon Smacked By Medical Board For Prescribing Oral Sex

Woman Squirt During Oral Sex

A surgeon in Sacramento has had his hand smacked by the state medical board for prescribing oral sex to improve a woman’s gag reflex. The unnamed woman was recommended to have an upper-gastrointestinal endoscopy and told the surgeon she gags at the dentist so she was hesitant to have the procedure.

An upper-gastrointestinal endoscopy requires that a scope be inserted then run down into the intestinal tract. Dr. J. Peter Zegarra was in an appointment with the woman and her husband when he told the husband, “She should be practicing twice a week on her husband by giving him oral sex to address her gagging reflex.”

Cassandra Hockenson who’s with the California Medical Board responded to the suggestion stating the suggestion was unprofessional. “This constituted unprofessional conduct, and so this is a message that this probably wasn’t appropriate. A more appropriate response should have come with regards to dealing with her gag reflex issues.”

Hockenson went on to add that even if the suggestion was made in jest, the medical board didn’t accept that as an excuse. Hockenson stated, “We encourage people to come forward, and I applaud her for coming forward and saying something”

According to the state medical board, this complaint was made several years ago and Dr. Zegarra has made two attempts to have it expunged from his public record. In the 2007 summary of administrative actions taken against medical professionals, Dr. Zegarra’s name is listed.
